Various herbs and plants can help to reduce H. pylori and reduce inflammation:
- Cranberries: Some studies show that cranberries can inhibit the additional growth of H. pylori;
- Deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL): Licorice is best chewed. This should be done an hour before or two hours after eating;
- Peppermint: can help relieve the symptoms of peptic ulcer.
Sample diet plan for gastritis
Below is a 7-day menu for gastritis. Food can be changed according to personal preference.

For gastritis, it is important to plan meals and take breaks between meals. Avoid drinking water with and immediately after meals. Drink water between meals.
In addition to changes in food choices, changes in lifestyle, such as limiting or avoiding caffeine and alcohol, reducing stress and quitting smoking, can be included. In addition, it is advisable to exercise three to five times a week.
Having gastritis means that you will have to limit your consumption of some of your favorite foods to avoid an outbreak of painful symptoms. The diet for the treatment of gastritis, according to your preferences, can be quite varied in the choice of dishes.
